There were some new faces and some we have been working with for a while. Everyone left with a big smile and a few Malibu's will have a new home real soon.

Austin Boat Show was a big success

This picture made the Austin Paper! This is me (Rob) with the Vaughn family. They came to the show and decided to upgrade their 2007 Malibu Wakesetter VTX to a 2011 Wakesetter VLX.

The show was very well atended and we saw many folks that were tired of postponing the boat purchase. They are ready to get on with the fun!! How about you??!!

Just one day after Malibu Boats announced the third annual Rockin' Christmas promotion, one lucky Austin, Texas family pulled the trigger on a new boat.

The Sabins family has 2011 Diamond hull 23 LSV Wakesetter on the way. The family is huddling together over the Thanksgiving holiday to decide on the color of their new Malibu Wakesetter. Sounds like exciting dinner conversation to us.

Come check out the new CTWS!! We are really excited about our new location. Tons of room out front to display our inventory, bigger and better shop and easy in-out for our customers.

Our new location is just a couple miles south down I-35 from our old store. From the south, just take exit 250 for Louis Henna Rd. and make the U turn. From the north, take exit 250 for Hester's Crossing. Stay to the left on the feeder to bypass the light. Go through the next light and we are about 1/4 mile down the feeder road.

Malibu Wakesetters Pull Aqua Boom Show on Lake LBJ July 4th

Please join us for a all day July 4th celebration on Lake LBJ!! The city of Kingsland has invited Central Texas Water Sports to pull the watersports show at the Aqua Boom festival with our Malibu Wakesetters.

There will be a fun day of parades and events in Kingsland. The watersports show starts at 7:00pm at the bridge over Lake LBJ in Kingsland. The pro wakeboarders will amaze with thier tricks, flips and skill behind the world's best selling towboats.

Immediately after, stay for the big fireworks display over the lake. Should be a great day. Hope you can join us!!

MALIBU and EBBTIDE Boats at Spring Fashion Show and Football Carnival

The last weekend of May was busy here at CTWS. On Thursday we were invited to display a Malibu 23 LSV Wakesetter for the Spring Fashion Show at River Place Country Club in North Austin. The ladies showed their stuff in and out of the boat and we all had a great time.

On Saturday, CTWS was invited to display an Ebbtide 2460 Z-Track and a Malibu 23 LSV Wakesetter by the Four Points Pop Warner Football League at their Spring Carnival. This event served as their spring fundraiser and all the kids were measured for their helmets and pads for action this fall. There were moon jumps, a dunking booth, facepainting and all kinds of fun stuff. Kids and parents alike enjoyed climbing and exploring all the features of these 2009 model boats. They are ready to make memories on the water this summer and on the football field this fall.

Thanks to River Place CC and 4 Points Pop Warner for the invitations. We'd love to do it again next time!

CTWS/Malibu Boats Ladies' Day a big success

Central Texas Water Sports had it's 2nd annual Ladies Day on Lake Austin on May 14th. The ladies had a great time and came away with confidence to drive, pull riders and dock their boats.

CTWS Sales Manager Kevin Brown gave an overview of the interior of the boats and all the goodies they have now. CTWS owner/GM Rob Falgout gave a presentation on the boat exterior, underwater gear and basic trailering. Ed Harmon from http://www.boardstop.com/ gave the ladies an overview of all the new stuff in wakeboards, wakeskates, towropes, lifejackets and all the required safety equipment. The response from participants was great.

One of the newest members of the CTWS/Malibu Boats family is Lorri P. Her family just purchased a Orange and White "Texas Fight!" Wakesetter VLX to fill up the dock at their new home on Lake Austin. She had this to say the day after the clinic:

"It was awesome.....great people, great lake, great boats, etc...i hope the other ladies came away with as much confidence as i did.....please pass on my appreciation to Rob, Kevin, Ed, Corky and Billy/crew!!!!"

We have tons going on this spring. Our boats will be all over the place for our famous Demo Days.

So far, we will be at the Hula Hut on Lake Austin on March 28th and May 2nd. We have also planned our very popular Ladies Day for May 14th. It will be held at the Steiner Ranch Lake Pavilion. Check back for details. It is limited to 20 attendees, so please RSVP if you have an interest.

We will be going to Lake LBJ on April 18th. The spot is Sunrise Cove Marina (www.lakelbjlodging.com) and we are excited about our first event there in a long time.

We will also be at the Lake Breeze Ski Lodge on Lake McQueeney this spring. Dates TBA right now.

CTWS/MALIBU Boats step up for area charitiy

Two brand new 2009 Malibu Wakesetters were on display at the River Place Country Club for the annual Pro-Am tennis tournament.

It was a fundraiser for the Austin Children's Shelter and CTWS donated an evening out on a Malibu Wakesetter with some wakesurfing lessons.

A good time was had by all and we raised a sizable amount for the Children's Shelter.

Thanks to all our friends and and customers that joined us this past Saturday for our Customer Appreciation Tailgate get-together. The early gametime put a damper on some of our plans, but it was a beautiful day, the Longhorns won and we all had a good time.

There is only one Longhorn home game left this season. Come down to the stadium after you've had your turkey on Thanksgiving Day and hang out with us before the Texas A&M game. We'll be at our spot on 17th & Congress about 3:00 pm. Come join us!

MALIBU Response FXi makes Texas debut

The all-new MALIBU Response FXi made its Texas debut at the Lake McQueeney Ski Bees Halloween Ski Show this past Sunday.

The new FXi pulled an "around-the-boat 360" with a Ski Bee in tow to the delight of the crowd during the show. The Ski Bee drivers gushed over the performance of the FXi. Tons of power, so agile, so roomy and a blast to drive were comments we heard all day.

Come see this worthy successor to the Sunsetter LXi's of years past at CTWS-New Braunfels.

MALIBU Pulls 2nd annual Ski Bee Halloween Ski Show

CTWS and MALIBU were proud to pull the 2nd Annual Ski Bees Halloween Ski Show at the Lodge on Lake McQueeney this past Sunday. The Bees were dressed as a wizard, a cheeleader, a fireman and a dancer behind the red Response LXi. We also had some ghosts, witches and goblins that formed a pyramid to the delight of the crowd.

The crowd was also delighted with the debut of the new Wakesetter VLX and MaliView. There were tons of folks that took advantage to see the future of towboats with the new VLX on the water.

The weather was absolutely perfect with clear skies and sunshine with temps in the lower'80's. You gotta love October in Texas!!

Thanks to the Ski Bees and the Lodge for a great season this year. The CTWS/Malibu Crew always have a great time there!

Big crowds for Texas/Mizzou tailgate party

Thanks to all the folks that came down to say hello at the Texas/Mizzou game a week ago. The crowds were the biggest we have seen so far this season.

If you haven't been down to the UT campus area on game day, you really should. Even if you're not going to the game, there is so much to see and do. Everyone is having a good time in a very family-friendly way.

Please don't miss our Customer Appreciation event on Saturday, November 8th for the Texas/Baylor game. We are at 17th and Congress just 2 blocks away from the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum. Come down and show your school spirit!

MALIBU Wakesetter 23 XTi impresses at Ski Bee Ski Show

We selected a MALIBU Wakesetter 23 XTi to pull last week's Ski Bee Show on Lake McQueeney. The reaction from drivers, skiers, riders and observers was overwhelming.

The drivers were extremely impressed with the handling and sharp responses of such a large and roomy boat. They also commented about the complete lack of bow rise and great acceleration and power even pulling up to 10 skiers in a pyramid. Even the hard core, V-drive loving wakeboarders were impressed with the wake when the ballast and wedge were added.

Its not too often that you see such a large boat nimble and versatile enough to hold 13 people comfortably, pull multiple skiers over a jump and create towering wake for boarders. Everyone also loved the Vapor Blue and Black color combo on this boat.

We only have two left. They won't last with the performance they gave last Thursday!

A very warm welcome to the Buchanan family as the newest members of the CTWS/MALIBU Promo Team. The Buchanans join the Hamilton family, Billy Garcia and his Freeride Wakeboard School, the Harmon family with Boardstop.com/Wakeboarder.com, and the Water Ski teams at UT-Austin and Texas State Univ-San Marcos on the CTWS/MALIBU Promo team.

The Buchanans selected a Red and White Response LXi for their new boat. Now the official tow boat for the World-famous Ski Bees of Lake McQueeney, this MALIBU will be pulling events all summer long on the lake.

MALIBU Boats at the Mullet Open

CTWS/MALIBU Boats were proud to be a sponsor of the 2008 Mullet Open Golf Tournament. The Mullet Open is one of the largest charity tournaments in Central Texas with over 160 golfers participating. This event, headed by Bucky Godbolt of the Bucky and Bob Show on 98.1 KVET-FM and 1300AM the Zone, benefits the Dell Children's Medical Center.

Malibu Boats were proudly displayed on the beautiful course at Flintrock Falls in Lakeway. Sales/Finance Manager Kevin Brown and teammate Lane Bostick shot a 64 and were just one stroke away from a trophy.

Lots of heat and lots of sun, but a great time and a great event.

CTWS/MALIBU pulls Ski Bee Show #3

CTWS and MALIBU Boats pulled the third ski show of the season for the world-famous Ski Bees of Lake McQueeney. That's two down and two more to go, plus the Old Timers ski show in August.

Young and old were out on the water putting on a great show for the crowd. Malibu's are a much more common sight on McQueeney area lakes now and they sure look great pulling the shows.

MALIBU and Central Texas Water Sports pulled the first of two Junior Development Clinics at the Frame Switch Ski Lakes near Hutto, TX.

There were kids of all ages and abilities learning from great coaches and volunteers. Some were getting behind the boats for the first time while others were working their way through the buoys in the slalom course.

The kids all had a great time and learned a lot from the coaches. Many thanks to Kathy and Ron Ives, Todd Leach and all the volunteers.

MALIBU pulls first McQueeney Ski Bee Ski show of 2008

MALIBU Boats and CTWS pulled the first ski show of 2008 for the world-famous Ski Bees on Lake McQueeney on June 12.

MALIBU has been chosen as the official towboat of the Ski Bees and will pulling shows at the Lake Breeze Ski Lodge all summer long. The Ski Bees quickly recruited the newest member of the CTWS team and put him on the water. Neal Severance was drafted into service in this week's show and performed some great work on the slalom ski to the oohs and aahs of the crowd.

The boats performed perfectly and the first show of the season was a great success.

Malibu/CTWS Ladies Day a big success

Thanks to all the ladies and volunteers that came out on May 29 th for our first annual Ladies Day and Boating 101 clinic. We had some instruction for the ladies on boat features, safety and trailering. After we had some fun on the water with one group getting driving and docking lessons, another group got wakeboarding lessons and tips and the third group got wakesurfing lessons and tips.

A great time was had by all. The time absolutely flew by.

We will try to schedule another event like this soon.

Neal Severance will be running the store with Hunter Croan. Neal comes to CTWS from Xtreme Marine outside Little Rock, AR. He has a great deal of experience with inboards and is a pretty advanced skier. He has also landed some big tricks on the wakeboard as well. Come welcome Neal to TEXAS!

Hunter sold sold several boats down there for us last year and we are pleased to have him with CTWS. Hunter's claim to fame is his National Collegiate National Championship wakeboarding award representing Texas A&M in 2002.

2008 Wakesetters are moving fast

Wow!!! It's not even summer yet and we have tons of new MALIBU owners. Our new store isn't even open and they've sold 2 boats already!! Some are trading Cobalts and other Inboard/outboard runabouts, some are trading up from Nautiques, MasterCrafts and other towboats. And for a few, this MALIBU is their first boat.

The 23's and VLX's are hot right now. We had 15-23' LSV's and we are already down to 9!! Only6 VLX's left.

If you're thinking about waiting until summer, you should think again. Come in now for a great color selection! They won't last long at this rate!!

New Dealership in New Braunfels

The rumors are true! CTWS is bringing the World's best selling towboats to New Braunfels, TX! We will be just minutes from North San Antonio and San Marcos.

To get to our new store, just take the FM 725 exit off I-35 (exit # 187), go East about 1/2 mile to 1928 S Seguin Ave (FM 725). We are excited to be so close to Lakes Dunlap, McQueeney and Placid.

Right now, we are doing some renovations to our new spot, but we plan to be open MAY 1!

MALIBU Boats at the Hula Hut

In case you missed the last one, CTWS is having another in-the-water Demo Day at the Famous Hula Hut on Lake Austin next Saturday April 5th from 10-3pm.

We had great weather last time. March is always a little dicey. You have as much a chance of having a 80 degree sunny day as a 40 degree rainy day. We're hoping for a repeat of last time.

Come see the whole line of MALIBU's next week. There will be a V Ride, VTX Wakesetter, VLX Wakesetter, 23 LSV and XTi Wakesetters and the big 247 LSV Wakesetter. If you saw these in the showroom or at the Boat Show, just wait until you see them out in the sun! They look awesome!

We have a got a bunch of new MALIBU WAKESETTERS with color matched Illusion Towers in recently! I have been wanting to get some of these in for a while now and my new owner/colleague Rob stepped up and got a handful of them!

Take your pick and seperate yourself from the crowd this summer with a color matched Illusion Tower. We have a a vapor blue, midnight blue, dark blue, regal red, yellow, and my favorite a white tower. Our Illusion Tower is by far the best looking tower on the market and now with the color added we even seperated ourselves more from the competition.

MALIBU In the Water Demo Days

Its almost that time again. Spring is almost here and it's time for you to get on the water and drive the world's best selling towboats.

We have a few dates for our In-the-Water Demo Days so far.

On Saturday March 8th, we will be at the Hula Hut on Lake Austin from 10:00AM to 2:00 PM. We will be back again on Saturday, April 5th at the Hula Hut at the same times.

Wakesetter VTX on the University of Texas Campus

As part of their Spring membership drive, the University of Texas Longhorn WaterSki Team is displaying an Orange and White MALIBU Wakesetter VTX on campus all week. The boat is all decked out and can be seen in front of Gregory Gym on Speedway between 21st and 24th St.

The Ski Team's MALIBU Response LXi will also be on display near the UT Tower.

Custom color Illusion X Towers

Just another item to distance MALIBU from the rest of the crowd. We now have several of our Wakesetters in with colored Illusion X and Illusion XS towers.

We have a white Wakesetter VLX with yellow and black accents with a yellow tower in the showroom right now. It is a very cool look. Outside we have a black and vapor blue Wakesetter VLX with a vapor tower and it looks great. We have a few more with coordinating midnight blue, dark blue and even some white towers that will be rigged and ready soon.

Big Wakesetter Inventory

The trucks are rolling in! We have gotten three truckloads of new Malibu Wakesetters in since the Boat Show. We'll have another two truckloads in over the next five days.

What does that mean to you? Loads of Malibu Wakesetters to choose from! Right now we are sitting on close to 50 new 2008 Malibu's. Want a VTX Wakesetter? Come on in we have 8. How about a VLX Wakesetter? Sure, we have 9! What about the new-for-'08 Wakesetter 23 LSV? I got 8 of those, too! Heck, I even have four direct drive XTi Wakesetters. Try to find those somewhere else!

Now, I sound like a furniture salesman. Sorry about that. Some of these new boats are just so cool -looking it's hard not to get excited about 'em.

Boat Show is over!

After working since the first of the year to get everything just right, the Boat Show is over.

At the show we did OK. The traffic was off this year-again! I guess Twiggy the water skiing squirrel just doesn't pack 'em in like they planned. We sold three new Malibu boats at the show and had one show customer come in this week to make it four. We also sold one used boat that was to be a trade-in, so that was ok.

We took a day off on Monday to rest, and Tuesday began the process of moving boats and all our stuff back where it belongs. Just yesterday we finally got our showroom stocked full of boats.

The weather is terrible, but you can browse our inventory in the showroom. We have 17 boats inside. One of every model. From the Sunscape 20, 21.5 and 23 to the Wakesetters. We have 2 VTX's inside, 2 VLX, 2-23 LSV and a 23 XTi and 3-247's. Two LSV's and one 247 RX direct drive.

At the Austin Boat Show

After a long day Wednesday of hauling, lifting and polishing, we are in our space at the Austin Boat Show.

We have 20 boats in our display and thay all look great! We have a Wakesetter 23 LSV a Wakesetter 23 XTi and a Wakesetter VTX "on the floor".

It's great to see our boats with the competition right next to us. When you see them side-by-side, there is just no comparison.

Malibu Response LXI and Wakesetter VLX

Today we spent getting the CTWS Promo Team boats ready. The Texas State University Ski Team's Response LXi got some cool graphics applied today. It looks really tough with the Bobcat head on the side. It also displays decals showing the Team's National Championship season.

WAKEBOARDER.COM'S Wakesetter VLX was already pretty pimp, but we added a few more decals to it , too. We're excited to have these boats in our display space at the Austin Boat Show this weekend.

2007 Malibu's almost gone

Wow! What a winter we are having in Austin, Texas!! We have as many boats going out the door now as we do in the spring and summer months.

We only have two 2007 model year Malibu's left. We started the week with four, but two lucky customers came in and bought a 2007 Malibu 247 Wakesetter and a 2007 Malibu V Ride. That leaves us with one remaining 2007 Malibu V Ride and a Malibu 23 Sunscape. These two boats will be bargain-priced at the upcoming Austin Boat Show Jan 17-20.

Don't worry if you think you may have missed the boat! We have truckloads of new Malibu Wakesetters, Sunscapes, V Rides and Responses arriving weekly. As one of the larger Malibu dealers in the country, we stay full of new Malibu inventory.

2008 Austin Boat Show

Happy New Year to all!

We are back at work here at Central Texas Water Sports. We are trying to get ready for the Austin Boat Show on January 17th-20th. But we are still taking care of our customers in the sales dept and in the service and parts depts. We haven't had our deep freeze yet, but you wouldn't know it by looking at our back lot. Kenny has as many boats in for service now as we would have in July!

We are very excited about this year's Boat Show. We will be showcasing the new 23's from Malibu. We will have a 23 XTi Wakesetter and a 23 LSV Wakesetter on the floor for all to see. They will really be "on the floor" with no running gear so you won't even have to step up to get a look at the unbelievable amount of room and storage inside.

We have also upgraded our carpet and signage, so we think our Boat Show space will look great.

Malibu Winterizing

We haven't had a hard freeze yet in Central Texas, but it's coming. We've had a ton of customers who have been very proactive and gotten their Malibu's in BEFORE the weathermen around here go crazy with the coming apocalypse of freezing temps.

We have also been helping customers over the phone with a do-it-yourself quick winterization. Doing one of these on a Malibu Wakesetter, V Ride or Sunscape is pretty easy. The most important thing is to get the water out of the engine block, exhaust manifolds and the internal circulating water pump. If not, this water may freeze if the temps drop into the low 20's for a prolonged period of time. When the water freezes, it expands and can crack the engine block or the manifolds. Big $$$.

If your season is over, bring your Malibu in and we will do the above, along with change your oil and stabilize the fuel. If your going to try to go all season, drain your block and manifolds!

Boat Show-Promotional Teams

Even though is over one month away, we are deep into our planning for the 2008 Austin Boat Show at the Austin Convention Center in downtown, ATX.

Plans are coming together to have about 20 Malibu boats in our 12,000 sq. ft. space. We are doing a few things different this year. We wanted to show the boating community how popular Malibu Boats areUniversity-San M with clubs, teams, etc. So this year we will showcase our Malibu/CTWS Promo Teams. The Water Ski Teams from the University of Texas-Austin and Texas State University-San Marcos will be there with their Response LXi's. To represent the wakeboarders, the WakeBoarder.com/Boardstop.com Wakesetter VLX will be on site as well. These boats are used to pull tournaments, photo shoots, and all types of competition and promotional events.

No question, Malibu is the boat of choice for teams and clubs in Central Texas!!

V Ride

We are selling one of our last V Rides today. After this one we will have two 2007's left and one new 2008.

The V Ride leaving today is Rueben (dark red) with back accents. The other 2007 V Rides are yellow/black and dark blue/yellow. The 2008 V Ride is dark blue and black. I ordered one more 2008 V Ride the other day. It is vapor blue and black.

The customer wants to take a test ride before they sign. No problem, but it is about 47 degrees and VERY windy. They are trading up to a MALIBU from a Tracker pontoon boat. Talk about Movin on up!!!

I wish all customers were so insistant on riding before they buy. We'd hardly ever lose a sale if they drive our boats.

One of our competitors (Texas Ski Ranch-MasterCraft) had a 1/4 page ad in the Sports section of the Austin paper today. The are trying to blow out their 2007's. I hardly have any left. They have to sell at least 2 just to pay for that ad!!!

New Malibu 23 Wakesetter

We got in a load of new Malibu Wakesetters yesterday. One was a new 2008 23 LSV Wakesetter. It's a little different than the ones we normally order.

Normally we do not do colored trailers and colored Illusion towers, but this boat will be on
display at the 2008 Austin Boat Show, so I wanted to make it a little special.

It is the Standard Classic color scheme with red hull and deck main panels and these are surrounded with small driftwood tan pinstripes. It will have a matching red Illusion XS tower and a matching red Extreme tandem axle trailer. It pretty sweet on the outside.
Then you get a look inside and it is even better. The tan carpet looks great and the interior is really just so comfortable looking. This boat will go quick.

Since then we have gotten a little bolder with the colored Illusion X and Illusion XS towers. We have a few more Wakesetter 23 and Wakesetter VLX with colored towers and trailers coming in over the next couple of months.

Keep checking the website. We'll have all our Wakesetter ans Sunscape inventory up with pictures before Christmas, hopefully.

The offseason is staying busy.

I'm just finishing my boat orders for next month. Twelve boats ordered and ready to be built. It's tough figureing out what models to order, even harder to decide the colors. You have to forget about what you like and concentrate on what other people like and what sells. There are just going to be boats that turn some people off and others that get people juiced up.

We are doing inventory in our Parts Department now, too. We waited too long to do this. The longer you put it off, the worse the problems get. But it has to be done before the end of the year, so no way to postpone any more.
